Homophobic Preacher Defeated By A Crowd Of Singing Christian Youths

The James Madison University campus in Virginia had a pretty interesting day, and it was all documented and posted in YouTube. A homophobic preacher, it seems, was trying to "spread hate" against homosexuality. It started when he called off a gay couple holding hands in public, telling them that they will go to hell.

What happened next was surreal.

A group of students (led by a college guy on a guitar) started singing in unison, drowning out the preacher's non-sensical words in the process. His hatred was met by the most powerful weapon there is: love.

Over the past few years, a lot of hate has crossed between the gay and religious communities. While gay people have been condemned to hell, we have also painted religious folks in a similar light. Sad to say, there is an unnecessary generalization going on. This video just proves that there is hope, and there is a good chunk of the religious population believing that love (and not self-righteousness) is the way to go.

Here's the song in it's entirety.

HOW HE LOVES
(David Crowder Band)

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us, oh,
Oh, how He loves us,
How He loves us all

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us, oh,
Oh, how He loves us,
How He loves us all

Yeah, He loves us,
Oh, how He loves us,
Oh, how He loves us,
Oh, how He loves.

And we are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If his grace is an ocean, we're all sinking.
And Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don't have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about the way...

He loves us,
Oh, how He loves us,
Oh, how He loves us,
Oh, how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh, how He loves us,
Oh, how He loves us,
Oh, how He loves.

Yeah, He loves us,
Oh, how He loves us...
Oh, how He loves us...
Oh, how He loves us.
