Emma Watson's Nude Photo Threat: A Marketing Ploy And Hoax?

Some good news, I think. It came to my attention that the threat to release nude photos of actress Emma Watson is a hoax. As it turns out, a group called Rantic Marketing used the site emmayouarenext.com as a marketing stunt in a effort to shut down 4chan.

The website threatened to leak naked photos of the actress on Saturday and even had a countdown timer. The original post was replaced with Rantic Marketing's website Wednesday. The new site features an open letter to US President Obama, asking for the censorship of 4chan.

The site also noted that emmayouarenext.com generated 7 million Facebook shares/liks and 3 million Twitter mentions. It also had 48 million visitors in a span of a few days. There is also a call to action to join the rally against 4chan, in an effort to prevent more leaked photos.

So... If this is the case, then there should be no reason to believe that revealing photos of our beloved Hermione Granger will be coming out this weekend. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
