Grindr Security Threat: Hide Your "Distance"

In response to a recent security and privacy threat, Grindr has implemented the following security measures:

This was a direct response to news that hackers could run programs to point specific locations of users who enable location services on their smart phones. 

This situation is specially risky for gay guys residing in areas where homophobia is rampant. This could lead to gay violence and bullying.

Users in "safer" locations are encouraged to change their settings and hide their "distance" from others.
